To All Members-A Big Thanks
I want to personally thank the Women of the Moose and the Loyal Order of the Moose for all you did to help us make "GETTING THE WRESTLING TEAM TO VIRGINIA" a reality.
I also want to thank all members for supporting my dinner as well as Ray Bertolino's dinner and for contributing to the raffle. It was a HUGE success and we appreciate your generosity from the bottoms of our hearts.
The Virginia trip was great and we came home with a FIFTH PLACE by Devin Nanik and a SEVENTH place by Tanner Sherrow. The other boys did very well but did not medal.
The boys had a great time and I am sure their memories will last a LIFETIME.
Thanks again and the wresting team thanks you as well.

For a group of five Mother Lode area wrestlers, a trip to nationals isgetting closer and so are the funds needed to cover the trip.
The Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge and the Women of the Mosse did its part by presenting the team sponsored by the AMA (Angels-Murphys-Arnold) Boosters Club with a check for $1,000.
Bret Harte freshman Andrew Richey, 14, of Copperopolis, his brother Aaron, 9, Tanner Sherrow, 11, of White Pines, Carson Homuth, 11, of Murphys and Devin Nanik, 11, of Arnold are the five wrestlers who qualified for the NHSCA National Open Wrestling Championships on June26-29 at the Pavilion in Virginia Beach, Va.
All five finished in the top four at the National High School Coaches Association National Open Championship state qualifier on March 26 at Antioch High.
Andrew finished fourth in the 119-pound high school division, Aaron, finished fourth at 65 pounds, Sherrow won at 90 pounds, Nanik finished second at 105 pounds and Homuth was second at 70 pounds. All of those were in the elementary school division.
Since then, the team has been taking donations, as well as doing several fundraising activities to try to achieve their goal of $7,500 nwhich would go toward travel, lodging and uniforms for the five boys and AMA coaches Bill Richey and Jim Sherrow.
So far, the group has raised roughly $2,800 and hopes to receive somemore donations and put on some more fundraisers as nationals getcloser.
"We're still working hard to get some money," Bill Richey said. "We still have some more coming in."
Richey said the group has been aided by local businesses, which have set up jars for customers to donate money. He said the group got involved with the Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge because one of the wrestlers has a mother and grandmother associated with the Women of the Moose.
"They've been big supporters of our things and the AMA Boosters have too," he said.
Richey said the kids are willing to do whatever it takes to make this trip possible.
"They're hard-working kids and they want to go on the trip," he said.
In addition to the generous donation, the boys have been assisting with Moose Lodge functions such as washing dishes and tending tables at dinner.
Ed Franke, who is a spokesperson for the Moose Lodge, said the organization has always provided donations to local charities in the community.
He said members of the Moose Lodge have provided tips and passed the hat around at the end of functions to help out the kids.
On Saturday, the Moose Lodge will sponsor another fundraiser dinner for the group, featuring a homemade chicken noodle soup dinner for the cost of $10. For tickets or information call Shirley Small 795-1846 or Cindy Sherrow at 795-7039.
If anyone would like to make a donation, checks can be made payable to the AMA Boosters Association, Attn. Wrestling Director, P.O. Box 664, Altaville, CA 95221.
